I have thought long and hard about where I want this business to go. I have tried some things out and I have retired some things. Meaning, there are somethings within the rental industry that I love and there are some that I could possibly deal with out. But really, I do not matter in this… the customer does and at Elegant Events & Rentals, we pride ourselves on pleasing our customers with not only satisfaction in the quality of the rentals, but also in offering them items that they want.
I am sad to say that for now we are no longer going to be offering the rental of place settings i.e. china, flatware, and glassware. I am sure that I will change my mind down the road, but at this junction I have decided that I want to focus my energy elsewhere. We are still going to offer linen napkins, chaffer dishes, chargers, and other items relating to the dinner aspect of your event, just not the plate, knife, and water glass!
We sincerely hope that this decision will not affect our present business or reputation amongst our amazing clients. Like I stated above, I am sure within the year we will bring back out our china rentals! But on the flip side, there are some AWESOME caterers in town that include place settings in their quote!! Ask us if you would like their names!!!

I love damask. You are probably thinking “doesn’t everyone?” But I mean LOVE! Not only do I love weddings and events that are plastered with damask, I love damask in my house! Damask table runners, damask table clothes, damask chairs, damask curtains!
With that being said, I was so happy when Courtney and Mike wanted damask for their wedding! They had black table linens with damask runners! The Q Casino and Resort provided the bride and groom with white chair covers and beautiful green organza chair sashes! Everything turned out gorgeous and we were so happy to rent them our wonderful black and white damask runners! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Headington!

Easter weekend we had the honor of providing 160 of our white wood chairs for Courtney and Michael’s wedding ceremony at the Quechan Casino Resort! It was a beautiful day despite the wind and the pool was the perfect site for their ceremony!
160 chairs, piece of cake!!! Well it was until I started going all OCD on myself. I had the chairs all in place as the bride and I discussed! They looked fabulous to everyone, but ME!!!! My lines were off! I could not get perfect straight lines in the rows because of the circular location of the where the ceremony was going to take place. So I stared at those chairs for 45 minutes trying to figure out how I could make perfect parallel lines! After rearranging and putting them back to their original arrangements, I left hoping they would meet up to the bride’s satisfaction!!!
After meeting with the bride the following week and apologizing for non perfect, non parallel lines, she laughed at me and told me they were fabulous and exactly how she wanted them! I drove myself crazy for no reason!!!! So, in the future, when setting up chairs I will have to remind myself no to be so OCD.
This weekend we will be participating in our first Women’s Expo! It is Saturday, May 14th, from 9am-2pm at the Quechan Casino Resort. We are excited to be celebrating women along with many other awesome local vendors! We will be located across from the booths of Tina Eaton Realty and Laurie Brown Photography!
We are going to dec our booth out and make it scream chic, girly SPRING (or should I say summer). We will be showcasing our white linens with beautiful tea green organza overlays! We are bring in a few of our belly bar tables to display as well a canopy tent and chandelier! We will be hosting a raffle at our booth so please make sure you come say hi and enter to win some cool stuff!!!
I have been craving for a chandelier! I am talking chic. I am talking girly. I am talking full blown “we are in Paris” chandelier. And guess what? I just bought one! Elegant Events & Rentals has added a beautiful Crystal Hanging, 4 candle Metal Chandelier to our inventory and I cannot wait to use it!!! I will be featuring this beauty at the Women’s Expo on May 14th!!!!

Starting a new business takes lots of time, patience, and perseverance. Oh, and I forgot humility. We started in August with 17 round tables and 152 chairs. We were unable to provide a 100% of the rentals to our brides because we simply were not big enough yet, so what we could not offer, we sent our brides to other vendors. Of course, we wanted the business, but at the time knew it we were not ready. Well… I am proud to say that only after 7 months, we are providing our clients with 100% of their rentals needs and have expanded our inventory immensely! The past two weddings have been incredibly fun for us because we have been able to meet the needs of our brides and grooms!
Jocelyn and Jesus: I love small intimate weddings and that is exactly what Jesus and Jocelyn had. They planned a gorgeous willow green and ivory wedding in a little over a month at the St. Paul’s Cultural Center. I was so honored to be able to help them with their rental needs and they were our first clients to use our BRAND NEW DANCE FLOOR!!! It was such a pleasure sharing their special day with them!
Sarah and Caleb: It was so fun sitting at Coffee Bean with Sarah and her daughter discussing what rental items they needed along with the color linens I would be providing them with! This was our second largest wedding and we had so much fun getting in there and helping Sarah and Caleb with the set-up and tare down of the rental items. I always say that I love weddings at private residences and theirs was beautiful. The brown and tiffany blue linens were perfect in the sunset along with the plush lawn.
We are so blessed for both of our wonderful couples! Thank you for trusting in us and making our work enjoyable!

Jocelyn and Jesus’ wedding at St. Paul’s Cultural Center
This past weekend was a blast for us! We had Samantha and Coby’s wedding at Yuma Catholic High School. Not only was this wedding beautiful, filled with eggplant linens and gorgeous yellow roses, but it made it even more special that I cheered with Sam in high school. This was our first wedding where not only did we know the bride and groom personally, but we were honored to be on the guest list as well.
I will say that the location was perfect! Sam and Coby started dating in high school, so how perfect to go back to where it all started and get married there. YC has the perfect mission style courtyard that is large enough for a 300 guest wedding. It is private and intimate; and has all of the things you need to host an event. At night you can look up at the stars and feel as though you are lost in another world ( which of course you should on your wedding day!). Sam and Coby had white lights everywhere with Eggplant drapes backing the dance floor. All I have to say is that although I loved my wedding venue (nothing beats a private residence), if I had thought about it, I would have also picked YC. Beautiful.

Surprises… who likes those anyways!?
I just love surprise parties! Whether it is a surprise birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower… I just love them! And more importantly, I love planning them! The planning, anticipation leading up to the big day, the cake, food, and decorations!!! All the people coming into to town as an additional surprise!
The first surprise party I threw was for my husband’s 30th birthday! We were dating at the time and he had never had a surprise birthday party, so what better way than to say “I love you” then a surprise party! I planned it for two months, had his favorite Dairy Queen ice cream cake (sorry Jamie) and had his sister and friends coming in from all over! Woke him up at 6am with breakfast and had a surprise golf match planned for him and his friends followed by a small scavenger hunt leading up to the big party! Throughout the entire day and all the random surprises, he still had no idea what was going on! He was inviting random people on the golf course to dinner at a local restaurant he planned himself for his birthday!!! Finally, when he got home, he walked into 30 of his closes friends and family and had one of the best 30th birthday parties ever! Now that he is my husband, I told him he should start planning my surprise 30th now since he has some time!!!
So, why did I just tell you that story? Well, luckily one of my closest and dearest friends has a birthday tonight… and guess what? She has never had a surprise birthday either. So, I felt the urge to throw her a great 27th surprise birthday party that she has no idea about tonight! It is actually working out quite well. She is mad that her parents and husband are taking her out for her birthday dinner to a restaurant she didn’t even get to pick! Since it’s her birthday, she wants to pick the restaurant!!!! Well, to ease her birthday blues, two of us close friends decided to “take” her to lunch tomorrow for her birthday! She proceeded to invite 8 people (who are coming to her surprise party tonight) to lunch tomorrow! It is all turning out great! This is why I love surprise parties! You throw the birthday girl off, she excepts lunch with some girlfriends and when she shows up to her unwanted birthday dinner, we will all be waiting!!!
My rambling is done, but my advise is that if you ever get the opportunity to throw your bestie or spouse a surprise party DO IT!!!! It is so rewarding and some of the most fun you could have!!!
